About This Policy
This policy explains how SteamLvlUp, an independent and unofficial Steam-related service, handles information when you browse price and bot data, use the calculator, submit a SteamID64, sign in through Steam, use the Inventory API, or fund API usage.
Information We Collect
- Signed-in account data: SteamID, public profile name, avatar, account roles, and session records. Steam authentication is handled by Steam OpenID; SteamLvlUp does not receive or store your Steam password.
- Public Steam profile data: a SteamID64 submitted by a visitor and public badge progress, profile level, XP, or other public profile information needed for the requested calculation. The submitted SteamID64 may belong to the visitor or another public account.
- API and balance data: API keys and names, request counts, requested SteamIDs, usage limits, internal Points charges, balance, and transaction history.
- TF2 key deposit data: the signed-in user's SteamID, incoming Steam trade offer ID, eligible TF2 key count, acceptance status, credited Points, and resulting balance. The user initiates this offer through Steam. SteamLvlUp does not collect card or bank payment details.
- Technical and analytics data: IP address, approximate country, browser user-agent, referrer, visited pages, session identifier, request details, and timestamps.
How We Use Information
We use this information to:
- authenticate users and maintain sessions;
- retrieve public badge progress and personalize set or bot calculations;
- provide and bill Inventory API requests;
- accept user-initiated TF2 key deposits and credit API Points;
- prevent abuse, enforce limits, diagnose failures, and secure the service;
- measure site usage and improve reliability and features; and
- review support requests and disputed or failed operations.
Public SteamID64 Lookups
The level calculator can be used without signing in. A visitor may enter any valid 17-digit SteamID64 to request information that the corresponding Steam account makes public. Badge and level results may be cached by the service for up to two hours. Up to six recently entered SteamIDs may also be stored locally in that visitor's browser for convenience. Private or unavailable profiles cannot be calculated correctly.
Cookies and Local Storage
SteamLvlUp uses cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, support Steam authentication, and understand site usage. Some cookies are temporary, while analytics data may be retained for up to one year.
You can clear this data through your browser settings. This may sign you out or reset your preferences.
Sharing and Service Providers
SteamLvlUp does not sell personal data. Information may be processed by Steam or Valve when a visitor requests public Steam data, authenticates, or funds API Points, and by infrastructure providers used for hosting, network delivery, inventory and profile requests, databases, caching, monitoring, and error reporting. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, or comply with a legal obligation.
Retention
Sessions expire automatically and public badge lookup caches normally expire within two hours. Account, balance deposit, transaction, API usage, security, and analytics records are retained for as long as reasonably needed to operate and secure the service, resolve disputes, maintain accurate balances, and meet applicable obligations. Some records may remain after an account-related request where retention is necessary for fraud prevention, transaction integrity, or legal compliance.
Your Choices and Requests
Signed-in users can download a copy of their account data, review active sessions and recent login history, revoke sessions, or schedule account deletion from Privacy & Security settings. Sensitive requests require Steam OpenID verification. Account deletion has a seven-day cancellation period. Completed transaction and trade records may be pseudonymized and retained for up to three years where needed for transaction integrity, fraud prevention, disputes, or legal compliance. Security and deletion audit records may be retained for up to one year.
Support remains available for correction requests and users who cannot access the self-service controls.
Security
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect service data, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your Steam account and API keys secure and contact support if you believe they have been misused.
Children
SteamLvlUp is not directed to children who cannot legally consent to data processing in their country. Do not use the service without any consent required from a parent or guardian.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the service changes. The current version and its update date will be published on this page.
